Rescheduling of Training

February 21, 2007

Dear Principals, Secretaries and Teachers,

I’m sending you this memo to notify you of some changes regarding the Powerschool/Powergrade Training schedule. After having taught the Wave 1 secretary class, I realized that I would need to have a second training for all the secretaries (Wave 1 and 2) so we could also prepare the class courses for next year. This needs to be done so I can in turn train the teachers. Therefore, I am postponing the Teacher Training until later in the year after both secretary trainings are complete. We will use the dates originally set for the teacher trainings for the additonal secretary trainings.

Here’s what the revised training schedule looks like so far:

  • March 6, 2007 - Wave 2 Secretary First Training ( revised this so the Wave 1 Secrtaries will have more time to revise their data in Powerschool)

  • March 28, 2007 – Wave 1 Secretary Second Training ( all student info should be updated, students in the correct grade for next year and information filled in for courses)

  • April 2, 2007 - Second Training for Wave 2 Secretaries Training ( all student info should be updated, students in the correct grade for next year and information filled in for courses)

After we complete the secretary trainings we will be able to plan the teacher Powergrade trainings.

We are doing very well. Except for five schools, all our data has been imported into Powerschool! All the principals have participated in a workshop and the Wave 1 secretaries have been trained concerning the student data side of Powerschool. For the pilot schools, we have encounted but come up with a solution for the report cards. I think our goal of having Powerschool up and running on our schools will be a possibility for next year, thanks to each and every one of you.

Have the best day,

Sister Debbie Timmis, CSJ
